American Craft Council Conference

Sep 20, 2007

On September 6-8th the American Craft Council Southeast Region hosted a wonderful conference at the Arrowmont School of Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The conference was centered around a dynamic Spotlight 2007 show juried by Sandra Blain. The work was in all media of craft and was a strong showing of the diversity found in the southern United States. The workshops were unusual for an ACC/SE Conference because they were two full days of hands on availability with some of the best crafts people from across the country. Each workshop actually produced something instead of just watching an artist create. I’ve included some pictures of Debra Fritts demonstrating, Nick Cook helping a student, and Sandra Blain talking at the opening of the Spotlight Show. The next ACC/SE conference will be at Kennesaw State University, here in Atlanta August 20-23, 2009. Please check back with my web site and I’ll keep you posted on who the workshop leaders are for what promises to be another spectacular event.
